Good call on the Verve Pipe and New Order! And The Killing Moon would be a perfect song for Jacob.
I would love to hear Wild in the Woods by Dead Can Dance, it would be really nice in the movie. Also, Nine Million Rainy Days by The Jesus and Mary Chain would work.
And hey, as long as we're tapping into the 80's, can we hear some cheers (or sobs) for The Cure? Maybe In Between Days or something. When you're wallowing in sorrow, there's no band better. =

Ok, I just found the perfect song for Jacob for NM. It's called Atonement by Opeth, of the Ghost Reveries album (can't seem to copy the link off Playlist.com, but it's there). It's beautiful and creepy and totally right. Here's the lyrics (don't worry, they're short):

i was listening to the radio and this song totally reminded me of jacob... taylor swift "You belong with me" I am in no way saying jacob is girlie but it talks about it being easy btwn them and it was also so much easier for J and B than E and B

OMG, YES YES YES to Dead Can Dance and the Jesus and Mary Chain. I don't know totally about which specific songs but I love the vibe of both of these bands. I think DCD especially fits in with the whole nature aspect of Jacob's identity.

2. Near to You by A Fine Frenzy- this song is more Bella's song for Jacob also for when Edward leaves.
3. Animal I Become by Three Days Grace- this song would be perfect for when Bella goes to visit Jacob and he tells her they can't be friends.
4. Therapy by All Time Low & Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy- for when Edward comes back
5. Time Stands Still by the All American Rejects - When Jacob goes to see Bella at her house but Edward won't let her.
