You know, MRK, you're right. I hadn't thought of it that way before, but I realize now that I too have been thinking of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob as really, Team Vampire vs. Team Human. I like Edward's personality better than Jacob's, but I would have picked Jacob and the human life over becoming a vampire. Thanks for pointing that out!MRK wrote:My view of it all is this:
Bella and Edward have the deep true love thing...Bella and Jacob have the true friendship thing. The more and more Bella came to terms with what it actually meant to become a vampire, the more in love with Jake she fell. I think what she was in love with was not Jake, but the idea of the HUMAN life she could have with Jake. Once she faced the loss of her human life, she lost "that" love for Jake.

Re: Jacob and Bella's changing relationship
First time posting in a thread, so here goes! Jacob and Bella's relationship really interests me as I think Jake is a character with many dimensions, whereas Edward (please don't shoot me for saying this!!) is a little bit same-y from time to time. I always knew that Bella would choose Edward over Jake - he's her soulmate - but I've been starting to wonder what would happen if Edward died and Bella got together with Jacob. I think their close friendship could easily deepen and develop into love, as Bella admits to herself that she loves him near the end of Eclipse. Do you think they would be a good match or would their interests and ambitions in life differ too much?

I have to agree with you there. I couldn't help but wonder while I was reading New Moon: what would have happened if Edward didn't go to the Volturi to try to commit suicide, and the Cullens never returned? Bella may finally have gotten over Edward, and had a relationship with Jacob...And to be honest, I think it could have worked really well. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind Bella/Edward, but I do think that it would have been interesting if Bella/Jacob happened instead.Jacobs-girl wrote:I've been starting to wonder what would happen if Edward died and Bella got together with Jacob. Yeah, I really agree with you. I don't mind Bella/Edward either and I used to be a Team Edward fan (before my loyalties changed to Jacob!) but it would have been much more interesting with Bella/Jacob.Gochiruzeru wrote:I have to agree with you there. That's what I was saying, What if they make another version wherein Bella ends up with Jacob.. It's not so bad, and I think the Bella/Jacob fans will totally appreciate it..Jacobs-girl wrote:Yeah, I really agree with you.
