As you can tell I'm new to the boards, and I'm really excited to be here. I'm definitely a latecomer to the Twilight Saga- I started reading the books this past March. Ever since then, however, I have been literally addicted. I'm obsessed with everything Twilight, probably unhealthily so. I've got a couple of friends who love this series as much as I do, and a lot more friends who love Twilight but still think my obsession is pretty overboard. And then there's the whole lot of people in my life who think I'm crazy and that my obsession would be more fit for a 13 year old girl (I'm 21). But what it really comes down to is that I love this story and this world that Stephenie created, and I'm happy to have found a place where I can discuss it with others who enjoy it as much as me.
I felt so much better yesterday when I read the topic about how many times everyone's read the books. Currently, I've read all of the books twice and just finished reading Twilight for the third time. (This is cover to cover readings, as I've read my favorite chapters/parts countless times ... whenever I'm bored/before bed/etc. I always read for a while even if I'm not currently reading an entire book). When I started round three of reading the books I was almost ashamed to mention it to friends because I knew how much they would tease me for reading them again! But it was awesome to see how many times some of you have read the books and know that I'm not weird for continuing to read them. I feel like I could read them again and again and never get sick of them.
As for my favorite character, it is 100% without a doubt Edward Cullen. I don't think I need to explain that here because I know you all understand, but for me, Stephenie just created the perfect character in Edward and he is a huge part of the reason why I love this series so much. In my first round of reading the books, I hated Jacob. But after going through a second time I was able to gain a different perspective and I have definitely grown to like and appreciate Jacob. I just never for a second wanted him and Bella to be together, Edward and Bella always belonged together for me.
Now that I've covered the basics, I can't wait to discuss everything else with all of you! This introduction is much longer than necessary, so you can probably tell how anxious I am to be able to talk about Twilight as much as I want without being judged! Haha... see you on the boards
