Hey all!

Fall is definitely upon us here and it's been a nice excuse to have fires in the fire place. With Thanksgiving next week, it's fitting. We're planning the menu and getting ready to hang out with my parents for the day so it should be fun.

Lynne-oh no, I hope you're feeling better. How is all the book promo doing for your book sales?

Hey there!

Last weekend's book signing, which I was healthy for, was the most successful I've had in a while, with 14 copies of various books sold overall. So that made me happy. :) I'm still doing a lot of promo but so far nothing seems to have made my Amazon ranking improve so, thus far, nothing is working, which is a shame, because I'm spending some money on it. I've continued to get some more good reviews on Goodreads but no more on Amazon, which is a shame.

It's getting close to the end of the year and the weather is warming up. I'm looking forward to putting up my Christmas tree soon! :D

Sarah - I hope you have a nice thanksgiving around the fire. Yes, I am feeling better, thank you. I haven't been that sick in a while!

Hey all!

Busy few days leading up to Thanksgiving with work but yesterday was really fun. I made an apple crisp, we watched football and played Yahtzee, and just hung out with my parents. Mom and I did our traditional Black Friday shopping and I've gotten a lot of good deals for Christmas so I've got a few more things left to get. Jason's birthday is Monday so I had to get all that done too :) I'm tired but it was worth it!

Lynne-oh good, I'm so glad it went well! It is always so weird to hear you talk about warmth and Christmas trees! :P Do you guys put lights up on your houses too or is that an American thing?

Hey there!

I had to go to the doctor last week as I'd been having shortness of breath lately, and had to get blood tests and x-rays, etc. It seems I've got a chest infection and I didn't even know it! I've got to go back to the doctor this week to get some antibiotics. Maybe that explains why I've been so tired lately.

Little Man only has two more weeks of school before they break for summer holidays. That means I'll be working from home for six weeks. Also, for three of those weeks, work closes its doors anyway, which will mean a nice break which I sorely need. By then, I will have finished pre-Christmas promo for the book, which will mean a good break. :D

Sarah - glad to hear you had a good Thanksgiving. Yes, a lot of people decorate their houses with lights over here. We have a small amount up but not many. My family usually goes out on Christmas Eve to look at the houses that have gone all-out.

Every week I mean to get on here more often but time just gets away from me!

After a busy weekend of celebrating Jason's birthday (34) with various family members, the work week flew by as well. Thankfully my new girl seems to be doing well and catching on quick..good thing because my current partner is done at 35 weeks pregnant! Poor girl needs to get some rest before her baby girl comes!

It's starting to feel more like Christmas around here which is nice since it's December and it should. I also got a chance to finally binge watch the new Gilmore Girls, which was great, despite a cliff hanger ending!

Lynne-oh good, finally a vacation for you :) how is all the book promo going? Do you have any warm weather Christmas traditions?

Hey there!

A week ago, I was diagnosed with pneumonia and told to take it easy. It's not a bad case of it; it's called 'walking pneumonia', which means you can still get around at all but exertion makes breathing difficult.

Take it easy? With Christmas and the end of the year and a book to promote?

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) I haven't had any book signings for the last couple of weeks. However, I have two on 16th December, the day before we go away to the Sunshine Coast for a few days. Not great timing but I'm hoping I will at least be in reasonable health by then.

Sarah - glad to hear Jason's birthday went well. :D Yes, it's such a busy time of the year, isn't it? Not really any warm weather traditions, no. We usually pretend it's hot weather! Some people have a barbecue at the beach on Christmas Day, but we've always been 'inside Christmas' people.

Hey all!

This past week has been a busy one, training a new girl who thankfully seems to be catching on quickly, since my pregnant co worker isn't working anymore! We're not taking a ton of time off for Christmas so I'm hoping she continues to do well so that my days aren't so long. Weekends just don't seem long enough anymore! In between running errands for Christmas, baking, wrapping, and socializing, etc..it's no wonder the holidays seem tiresome. This week we have our church small group and both of our moms birthdays, busy busy busy.

Lynne-oh no, how awful! I hope you're able to find work you can do while taking it easy! Is the online promo helping at all?

I finished my antibiotics last week but I'm pretty sure I still have pneumonia. I had another chest x-ray yesterday and go back to the doctor tomorrow. I'm convinced he will put me straight back on the antibiotics.

It's been making me feel a little dizzy occasionally for the last couple of days, which is more of a worry than any of the other symptoms, as I can soldier on with them but this one has me worried. I'm supposed to be working from home this week, going to a midnight screening of Rogue One, going to two book signings on Friday, packing for us to go away next week and cleaning the house in preparation for the people who are house/dog sitting while we're away. So I'm kinda busy.

Sarah - glad to hear the new girl is catching on quickly. Yes, it's such a busy time of year, isn't it? No, the online promos didn't seem to make any difference.

I'm going on holidays for a few days to the beach and will have no real internet access. See you when I get back!

I don't know what it was but we all felt off our game this week, lots of issues..I'm relieved it's the weekend! We were supposed to have dinner with Jason's mum yesterday but he came down with a nasty cold so we opted not to share his germs..such a shame, as it was her 60th birthday! But after work this week, I was happy to spend the evening on the couch with him watching TV. We'll make it up to her!

I'm thankfully done with my Christmas shopping but I plan to meet a friend at the mall tomorrow anyway, just to keep her away from Jason's germies. I still need to make cupcakes for his work and bath salts for a few friends (and me!) plus wrapping, so it's all fun stuff. We're watching Christmas movies tonight.

Lynne-the new girl likes Twilight ;) so she's even nicer in my book. I raved about beautiful Forks is so maybe she'll make a trip up there. I hope you have a lovely holiday!
