skylarblue- I did some research on all of the popular e-readers to decide which one I should get. I liked the nook, too, but Amazon just has more e-books available and offers better deals. They tend to have more sales than Barnes and Noble. I've already downloaded 5 free books on my Kindle!

Right now, the Kindle is on sale. You can get it on the Amazon website or at Target for the same price. $189

QOTD: What is the best name you've ever come across in a book? (doesn't have to be a main character...just a name you read in a book and thought was pretty great. You can list one for a male and one for a female)

There are lots of names I have liked, but to pick the top???

Men: Jace (from Mortal Instruments)

Women: Mercy (Mercedes Thompson from the self titled series by Patricia Briggs...Mercy is a VW mechanic..Mercedes the VW mechanic...it's funny)

These are my top two for the moment...I know it will change...

I got lost. I haven't been here for so long I almost forgot what it was like.

Movie experience: glad I went, Eclipse was better than Tw and NM, the before party thrown by the theater was not worth the $25, and I miss the emotion of the books. I'm not going to try to sum up what's already been said, but Ouisa and December nailed it. The depth of Bella's love for Edward is only realized through her sacrifice. And the way we see it is through the vision of a future with Jake and TGDS, and her human ties: Renae, Charlie, the human friends, etc.

One last note, as far as Forks becoming Twilitized. Sad. It was so much fun to go there, and see the town as Bella might. Unfortunately, commercialism reigns. But, still jealous you were there again, Ouisa. Wish we could all go again.

Variety Long time!!!!! Glad to see you still around too :)

As for Eclipse. I loved the movie. I thought it was greta, but New Moon seems to have a special place in my heart. One thing annoyed me about Eclipse was the lighting. I kinda felt like like it was close to the same lighting in Twilight. It really annoyed me and my eyes hurt. Another thing which is kinda dumb, I couldnt stop looking at KStew's wig  I know I'm dumb!! But I couldn't help it. I went to the Midnight event at the Arclight Pasadena. They had people who dressed up as the characters. The girl who dressed up as Bella looked nothing like her and it took me a while to realize who she was after figuring out who was missing xD But the boy dressed up as Edward even had the jaw thing going on and would give the same look when taking pics with everyone. They also gave out roses to people and did airbrushing on ppl for whatever you want: a cullen crest, fangs, a vampire bite... and it was free. It was fun. And they also had the costumes of some of the characters in a glass thingy to show to fans. They were the real deal. IT was really fun and I'm getting my ticket to the Arclight again for BD part 1 and 2!!!

Happy Hump Day, Everybody!
The best female character's name came from The Great Gilly Hopkinsby Katherine Paterson. Galadriel (Gilly)...I love Gilly!
The best male character's name came from New Moon. Riley...I love that name because it's my nephew's name.

Best male name would be Landon from A Walk to Remember, I read that books years ago and I always loved that name as a kid.
Best female name would be Prim from Hunger Games. It's very unique and yet beautiful for being such a short yet highly appealing name. :D

It's very sad. The surprising thing, in a way, is how long it was in coming. In fact...back in 2008, I remember some people commenting what a shame it was that Forks wasn't doing more to acknowledge the Twilight phenomenon and get some small benefit from it.

All leaves one wondering why there isn't some middle ground between utter obscurity and mass commercialization. Seems like it's impossible these days -- for Forks, for Stephenie, for the series....

Remember when there were these cool vampire books no one had heard of except for some odd people you'd met online?

December I completely agree. I remember a few years ago when the website opened and we were less than 500 people on here. And we were all in love with this series that no one knew about. As much as I still love the books (and will always be Team Edward!!!) I did kinda go through a phase where I couldn't tolerate hearing about Twilight or Edward or Jacob and the hotness that is Taylor Lautner. It got annoying to me. I wear pins on my Borders badge at work to show what books I support and I'm a fan of. People see my Twilight pins and they automatically ask me about the movie instead of the books. So clearly because I'm in a bookstore I make it clear that I love the books more than the movies anytime. It gets annoying when you get asked that almost everyday about something that was put in the media as something phenomenal and people forget where these movies originate from. And I fear for Hunger Games when it becomes a movie, how much it's going to affect its existence as this awesome book that us boookworms are in love with... Just a thought. (WOW that came out of nowhere!!!)
