The ultimate proof I do take suggestions (in case any of you were under the impression that I don't ;) ):
I got a PM from a new Lex member, Jazzlover, who suggested an acoustic version of "Bent" by Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20 that fit all the parameters I was looking for and is on playlist.com. This was suggested for the Bella/Jake scene in NM starting on page 373.

I found when I listened to it that I really liked it for the scene JUST before it where I had put "Unintended" by Muse. So I switched them! You'll now see "Bent" in "Unintended"'s slot and "Unintended" taking up the slot that has now been vacated by "Walking After You". Is everyone following so far?

Anyway, I've changed it on playlist.com.

I'll edit the playlist post rather than re-posting the entire list to reflect this change as well.

And BIG round of applause for Jazzlover!! (clapclapclaclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclap!!!!!!)

:!: NEXT up for suggestions: (Let's think of this as a musical treasure hunt, shall we?) ;)

 Looking for a 3:20 to 3:40 in length song to take the place of "Please Please Please" on page 102. This is the scene where Bella is getting ready to go to the movies with Jessica through the point where she is at the theaters and leaves because the zombies haven't appeared yet, just a "happy couple".
Should be: apologetic, a little harsh, but not death metal, along the lines of "could you please put up with me? I'm really screwed up" for lyrics. Maybe some Green Day? Nirvana? Some other new band I probably haven't heard of?

I have sent you a PM with a music suggestion for Eclipse. I hope it will work! If it does just say so, even if it doesn't I would still like to know!

For the record to everyone else, I've PM'ed this person back.

Time for some updates:

1) That one song in orange on the Twilight list is now officially substituted. (It was "Close Your Eyes" by Snow Patrol starting on page 352 for those who might be keeping track). It's now "Mona Lisa" by The All American Rejects as suggested by Jazzlover. (Go Jazzlover!! Woohoo!) The revised Twilight playlist in full as stated on page 9 of this thread has been edited to reflect this change with a note on the bottom. It's also been changed on playlist.com.

2) This means that the Twilight list is now done. The exception would be if there's a song in black that someone felt really strongly about doing a straight substitution (meaning that it's the same length of song or reaaally close (within 10 seconds +/-)). I will take those under consideration on a case-by-case basis and there should be some explanation as to why you like that new song better, not just a "Oh, I really like this song".

3) Made two changes to the New Moon list: Substituted on page 102: Took out "Please Please Please" by Fiona Apple (for no other reason than the right version isn't on playlist.com) and put in "Nobody's Home" by Avril Lavigne. This was suggested by a friend of jazzlover who then forwarded the idea to me. My reasoning for including this song is as follows: The fact that the song is recognizable and by a pop-ish singer makes it fit more with the personality of Jessica in this scene for that very reason. I see Jessica as a very superficial person and I could totally see this song playing on the radio in the background and her singing along with it not even realizing the depth of what she's singing. It's for this reason that it fits with this scene.

4) Also substituted: Page 109 - took out "Stuck with Me" by Green Day and put in "Slipping Away" by Sum 41. Again, a suggestion by jazzlover. (****applause***)

Both of these changes are now edited into the NM list on page 9 of this thread and are now in Blue as well as changed on playlist.com.

 I'm still open to suggestions for a 0:45 - 1:00 something to cover the Preface of NM! That is your next assignment if anybody's paying attention. I've already used "Interlude" by Muse and "Interlude" by My Chemical Romance so please don't suggest these, but these are the kinds of music I'm looking for. Short but intense.

Any ideas?

I found one that i liked for the NM preface... It is called the Interlude by Kettles. I don't even know who they are but the interlude sounds like it would work.

Interesting. That one in particular is a little longer than what I had in mind, but your suggestion gave me a great idea: searching playlist.com simply for "Interlude" and seeing what comes up. (And my gosh is there a lot out there!) So, thanks Alima!

I found one I really like for this called "Interlude, Pt. 1" by Chiodos that's the right length I was looking for and has some background chorale whispering that is echoed in "My Weakness" by Moby for the scene that would follow where the Preface leaves off (Bella finds Edward at the Palazzo). So it helps the Preface fold back into the rest of the story musically. (At least that's how I see it). Playlist.com has been updated.

That now completes the New Moon revisions!

I'm still working on Eclipse as we speak and I'm sorry to say, but due to that big distraction known as life, it might be a little bit before I post the Eclipse list (maybe another week or two). Sorry about that for those who have already completed the Twilight and New Moon lists.

At this point in the game, I'd like to have people raise their hands/"sound off" if they have actually finished both lists all the way through and would like to provide feedback.

Who would like to begin?

*lowers hand, looks around innocently* Who, me? :D

I'm plugging this again, though. If you guys have just been following along but haven't done this yet, I would strongly suggest it. Not only is it fun and can it enrich your reading the books again, its cool to see all the bands and artists that Rose has come up with. Its introduced me to some new musicians and made me fall in love again with some I'd forgotten about. For those of you who were little in the 90's, it might introduce you to some of the musicians who influenced that bands that you love now. For those of you who are older, it might introduce you to some cool new bands! Go for it!

I've read through the first two lists and I think they are great. I agree with Jettabugfox 100% about it being an enriching way to reread the books. It makes the whole experience more interactive. It has also opened my eyes to a few musicians so it has multiple benefits.

I agree! I was born in '89 but I keep going through these weird flashback moments of "wow I haven't heard that in forever!" There are a few I have heard of but never actually listened to so I am definately discovering new to me music. Way fun.
