Twilight Saga Q&A #2
Re: Twilight Saga Q&A #2
I thought of a weird question today:
Since predatory animals taste better to vampires than herbivores, would a human who eats meat taste better than a vegetarian?

thanks for this it was so informative*Wanderer* wrote:I hope this helps. This is a link to SM's Breaking Dawn FAQ page on her website. You have to scroll down though, until you see "Vampires and pregnancy: when did that idea occur to you? How does that work?"

1. How did Alice end up in the asylum? Did she see visions of the future when she was human to?
2. How would James have found Alice's scent if she was locked up in a room in a building???

Re: Twilight Saga Q&A #2
I think it alludes to the fact that she had some sort of gift before she was changed. They always say how, the ones with the gifts, brought with them something form their human lives - Edward was always in touch with peoples something (sorry can't think what it was at the moment) and Jasper was always described as 'Charismatic', so i think Alice saw SOMETHING, even if they were only tiny little snippets and told people and they thought she was crazy. Or maybe she just zoned out frequently - looking at the future - but never told anyone what she saw, then her family had her checked but they couldn't find anything and thought she was crazy so put her into the asylum.ilovetwilight wrote:1. So to put it simply, i think she may have some premonitive (is that a word??) visions, maybe hazy or ncomplete, but they all bought things and just muliplied it's strength from the human life - so yes..
And i'm sorry ilovetwilight - I'm not too sure about the other question..

1. To add to what eliselovesedwardx said - on page 448 in Twilight, James tells Bella, "A hundred years earlier and she would have been burned at the stake for her visions. In the 1920's it was the asylum and the shock treatments." so, yes, it was her visions that got her locked up.ilovetwilight wrote: 1. How did Alice end up in the asylum? 2. I don't think nessecarily that a locked room would keep her smell from james. Through out the series they are constantly tracking day old scents that had yet to be washed away from the rain. He also mentions how good Alice smells, even saying she smelled better than Bella. Being that James is a tracker, I would imagine, once he had Alice's scent, he'd be able to pick it out of a large building. : )
I do have a question, I've always wondered, what would be the outcome of the book, if Edward COULD have heard Bella. What if she wasn't a "mental mute" ? Would they have still ended up together? Would Edward have been intrigued by her the same way if at all?

I don't think hew would have been as intrigued because he would have full insight to her mind so he wouldn't have to be talk to her to learn what is going on in her head.ilovetwilight wrote: I do have a question, I've always wondered, what would be the outcome of the book, if Edward COULD have heard Bella. Although, her blood would still call to him, it wouldn't be a huge deal because he wouldn't have to worry about being to close to her other than in class.

New questions:
1. Do you think the reasons vampires can't really feel pain is because once they've been through the changing process, nothing else surpasses?
2. Why did Edward wait to change Bella after Renesmme was born rather than before?

what do you mean, "can't feel pain"? i think they can, and in such an imense and intense way. For instance, Edward losing bella. or when Jasper was bit and he said "it stung" and Jane can inflict pain even if it's an illusion, or when you're burned (when you kill a vampire) you feel pain...threethings wrote:New questions:

hm, well if he changed her while she was pregnant. Renesmee would have been frozen too. bella would forever be pregnant. she'd be healthy but pregnant looking. and Renesmee wouldn't have been fully devolped and would be stuck inside bella for eternity.

OK I have looked and looked and it may seem like a trivial question...
BUT... Alice said that she had to get the (wedding) dress already because of a waiting list... Exactly how long was that waiting list and how long before had Alice known that Bella and Edward were going to get married?
